Jonathan was great. He even drove us around the area after fishing and told us some history of Ireland. We received a lesson prior to fishing on casting and using the fishing gear. We fished off some rocks by the sea. A magical place and a wonderful experience. Janet – October 2019

Had an excellent day. There was no pressure. Eleven Trout were caught this morning. I was casting as soon as we were on location after an initial lesson. Jonathon was very patient with me and kept observing my beginners technique and showing me the correct way to do things. Fly fishing with Jonathan was a very nice experience. Unfortunately, there was too much sun so that we could catch a lot of fishes, but Jonathan gave us good advice and we could fish from a small boat on a lake, which was really pleasant. We definitely recommend him! Marie – August 2019

We met Jonathan outside his home in a relaxed atmosphere and after a short introduction we were able to start the experience. Fly fishing, as we learned, is mostly about technique and as I never had the chance before we started with the basics. Casting properly is a real challenge but Jonathan was patient and helped me understand how to do it best. After some practice we went to a nearby lake to test the newly learned skills! Just fyi: if you’re offered boots, take them! Some lakes more than others require a bit of wandering through wetlands and it might indeed be helpful. Once we arrived at the lake it was windy so it was a challenge to properly cast but after a few attempts I got the hang of it. We saw a lot of trout leaping that day and we tried various flies but due to the weather conditions we did not catch well. However, it was a brilliant experience and it was a lot of fun fishing with Jonathan! Philip – August 2019

We had never fished before, let alone tried fly fishing. Jonathan was very patient with us and took us on a real adventure. We both certainly came away feeling like we could cast…. maybe only one in 10 attempts though! For total beginners he made it a fun and interesting experience. Would definitely recommend.
